Vidya Subramanian offers Carnatic Vocal Classes over internet (Skype) for all levels of  learners. Vidya has students all over the world. Detailed class notes will be sent via email. Lessons are customized to suit the student level and interest. Please email to schedule a free trial lesson. Online instruction in instrumental Carnatic music (veena, flute, violin and percussion - mrudangam) is also offered through experienced instructors.

Vidya is a Carnatic Vocalist and a disciple of Padmabhushan Lalgudi Sri Jayaraman since 1993. Vidya has performed concerts extensively in India and the USA. She has won numerous honors including the Thanjavur Kalyanaraman Endowment Award from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha (2011), Special award from Sree Rama Seva Mandali (2011), 2010 Artist Grant Award from Saratoga Arts and NY State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), 2009 Town of Clifton Park Arts Award and three New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) SOS awards from The Arts Center of the Capital Region. Vidya teaches vocal music for students of all levels. A Chartered Accountant and an MBA-Finance who was also admitted to CFA Institute membership in 2006 , Vidya is also a top academic achiever. She lives in Chennai, India with her husband, Dr. K. Subramanian, and their children, Skandan and Parvathi.

Vidya's adherence to classicism, soulful rendition, varied repertoire and her passion for innovation have won listeners' appreciation. Vidya is also an articulate speaker who leverages her rigorous academic training to deliver lectures on various aspects of Carnatic music in a lucid and interesting style. Her concerts present a unique blend of soothing music with an educational element that includes brief background information on the pieces. Vidya's music classes reflect her professionalism. She blends the traditional gurukulam style with current day digital and other media aids to make learning easy for today's students. Her Raagarasika podcasts have won international acclaim.
